The innovative chatbot solution by Filadelfia, Right People Group, and InDialog

Right People Group & InDialog have partnered with Filadelfia to create a chatbot that provides municipal employees with important health information about epilepsy.

Filadelfia is Denmark’s only highly specialized hospital for patients with epilepsy. For over 125 years, Filadelfia has aimed to positively impact patients, residents, and their families through its dedication to professionalism and compassion. This goal remains important today.

Filadelfia has two specialties within neurology – epilepsy and acquired brain injury. They offer a 360-degree approach to their services. They provide diagnosis and treatment to patients, as well as rehabilitation and family support.

With 6,000 visits and 1,350 hospital stays a year, Filadelfia is well-equipped to advance research and improve patient care.

Background for the collaboration

These days, most municipal employees hardly ever meet people with epilepsy.

When employees meet someone with epilepsy, they often Google for information. Even though there are many resources available, it’s up to each person to decide what’s useful for their situation. This results in varied approaches to managing epilepsy. 

Filadelfia wanted to create a solution for sharing important epilepsy information with municipal workers. They needed a solution that municipal professionals could easily understand in relevant situations. The new solution needed to give municipal employees easy access to answers to common questions about epilepsy. It also allowed them to ask open-ended questions.

In collaboration with Right People Group and InDialog, a decision was made. An AI-enabled Chatbot app would give employees instant access to the latest information about epilepsy. Right People Group arranged the partnership between Filadelfia. InDialog managed the chatbot development.

The solution provides:

  • Referrals to where to learn more and/or who to contact
  • Links to existing video material and booklets
  • Links to existing e-learning courses

The solution helps patients in Denmark quickly get the right help during seizures. This strategy could be helpful in many other healthcare areas.

  • Preliminary user tests have been unequivocally positive
  • Obviously, it provides inspiration for further development of standard questions and themes
  • So far, the chatbot solution has not given any wrong answers. However, it depends on the accuracy of its sources. Sometimes, it might use outdated information still found on websites.

The chatbot solution gives quick and trustworthy information about epilepsy. It answers questions directly for all our target groups. It does not just list articles.
