Are you an accomplished leader in software engineering, ready to take on a strategic role in a global organization? We are looking for a Head of Engineering who brings a wealth of experience, particularly in Agile development, and a passion for nurturing talent and driving innovation. With over 15 years of experience, including 10+ in leadership, you’ll be at the forefront of guiding our engineering teams to new heights.

Your Role

As our Head of Engineering, you will lead and inspire Engineering Managers across our teams in the Nordic region, the UK, and the US. Your mission is to foster a culture of excellence, ensuring that our engineering talent consistently delivers high-quality software products and services on time and within budget. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the entire employee experience, from recruitment to professional development, ensuring our teams remain motivated and engaged.
 
Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll collaborate closely with senior leadership across the organization to align engineering initiatives with broader business goals. You'll be instrumental in driving a culture of innovation and teamwork, working with a global product development team of 115 professionals who are committed to excellence.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Mentorship: Cultivate a high-performing Engineering organization by mentoring Engineering Managers and promoting collaboration and performance across teams.
• Strategic Alignment: Partner with Product, Delivery, and other senior leaders to ensure engineering efforts are in sync with business objectives, driving value across the organization.
• Development Best Practices: Champion best practices in software development, ensuring our teams deliver top-tier products and services.
• Talent Growth: Develop and retain top engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to achieve shared goals and ensure the seamless delivery of engineering solutions.
• AI & Machine Learning: Lead the prioritization of AI and machine learning initiatives to enhance product capabilities and development processes.
• Strategic Leadership: Shape long-term engineering strategies, including capacity planning and skills development, to meet future business needs.
• Team Management: Ensure effective team management and development, optimizing performance across both remote and hybrid work environments.
• Resource & Risk Management: Strategically allocate resources and manage risks to ensure project success and mitigate potential challenges.

You are a visionary leader with a track record of inspiring and guiding diverse engineering teams. Your strength lies in collaboration, and you excel at building strong relationships across departments and with stakeholders at all levels. With exceptional communication skills, you can translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments is highly valued, as it reflects your ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic settings.
 

What You Bring

• Extensive Leadership Experience: 15+ years in software engineering, including a decade in leadership roles, with a focus on driving innovation and teamwork in global markets.
• Strategic & Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and other software development methodologies, with the ability to adapt tools, frameworks, and architectures to meet specific project needs.
• Project Management Excellence: Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent projects, efficiently managing resources and timelines to achieve organizational goals.
