Description
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in transforming business needs into actionable insights by translating requirements into meaningful analytics and reporting solutions. You will be responsible for enriching data from various systems, ensuring its quality, reliability, and accessibility in collaboration with data engineers. You will use your skills to unlock available data and allow the business to understand, and visualize it.
You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, design intuitive visualizations, and deliver clear, impactful findings through dashboards and reporting tools. Additionally, you will ensure that data can be easily shared and used across different systems, maintain technical documentation, and contribute to information governance to ensure data integrity and compliance. Your work will help foster a data-driven culture by promoting best practices, providing guidance on data use, and empowering teams with the knowledge to leverage data effectively across the organization.
Typical Work Tasks
Assist in Data Preparation:
Support Report and Dashboard Development:
Work with senior analysts and stakeholders to build, test, and maintain visual reports and dashboards aligned with business needs.
Collaborate on Data Modeling: Contribute to building reusable and scalable data models under the guidance of experienced team members.
Troubleshoot Data Issues: Investigate inconsistencies or errors in data and assist in resolving them in collaboration with engineers or data stewards.
Document Analytics Workflows: Maintain clear documentation of data models, and reporting logic to ensure transparency and reusability.
Follow Analytics Standards and Practices: Learn and apply Aker BP’s guidelines for compliant, scalable, and AI-ready analytics solutions.
Liaise with Business Stakeholders: Gather basic reporting requirements and assist in translating them into actionable analytics tasks.
Contribute to a Data-Driven Culture: Ask questions, share findings, and learn from the team to help foster data literacy and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
Adapt communication to the audience’s needs
Experience in data visualization tools (Power BI, Spotfire, Grafana or similar)
Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of data visualization best practices to effectively communicate insights.
Experience with programming languages relevant for data manipulation and analysis.
Higher education with relevant background.
7+ years relevant experience
