Consultant Task – Senior Software Developer (Espoo/Hybrid), published: 5.11.2024

A large regulatory project in the payments area, focusing particularly on instant payment systems but also impacting payment flows, channels, and the entire payment system.

We are seeking a experienced software development expert with specialized skills in performance optimization for financial applications. This role focuses on improving the entire payment system, which includes a mainframe-based core system, a Java-based service bus, and Java applications like instant payments processing.

Key Requirements:

• Strong Software Development Expertise: Proficiency in Java, particularly in developing and optimizing large Java-based applications and service buses.
  
   
• Performance Analysis & Optimization Skills: Experience with performance profiling tools (e.g., JProfiler, YourKit) to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  
   
• Mainframe Knowledge: Familiarity with mainframe systems and databases. (this isn't necessary skill but it helps a lot).
  
   
• Financial Systems Background: Prior experience in banking or financial applications is highly beneficial.
  
   
• Multi-Tier Architecture Experience: Ability to work across complex system architectures that integrate applications, service buses, and core mainframe

Language: Fluent in English (Finnish considered a plus, but not a requirement)
