Consultant Task - Azure Infrastructure Engineer- 100 % remote
 

On behalf of our client in  we are looking for a Azure Infrastructure Engineer.

• End Date: 2  month
• Location:  Remote
• Application deadline: ASAP
• Language Requirements: Fluent in English

Role: Senior DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer
Experience Level: Senior / Master
Location: Azure-based environment (remote or hybrid)

Scope & Key Responsibilities

1. CI/CD Pipeline Development (Azure DevOps)

• Design and implement multi-stage pipelines for:
  • Backend: 5+ Java Spring Boot microservices (Gradle)
  • Frontend: React web app (Vite)
  • Mobile: React Native app (Expo EAS for iOS and Android)
• Integrate automated testing: unit, integration, security scans
• Set up blue-green deployments and canary releases
• Implement automated rollback on failed health checks

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

• Define and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform modules:
  • App Services (Premium tier, auto-scaling)
  • PostgreSQL (Flexible Server, HA)
  • Service Bus (Premium tier)
  • Blob Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights
  • Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints, NSGs
• Manage multiple environments: dev, staging, production
• Implement versioning and change management

Azure Resource Management

• Provision and configure resources across environments
• Set up monitoring and alerting (Application Insights, Log Analytics)
• Configure Azure Front Door (CDN and WAF)
• Implement Azure Private Link and Key Vault access policies

Containerization and Orchestration

• Push Docker images to Azure Container Registry (ACR)
• Implement container security scanning
• Prepare for future Kubernetes/AKS migration (nice to have)

Database DevOps

• Build database migration pipelines (Flyway or Liquibase)
• Automate backup and restore processes
• Configure PostgreSQL high availability and read replicas
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) policies

Security and Compliance

• Integrate security scanning in pipelines:
  • Dependency scanning (Dependabot, Snyk)
  • Container image scanning (Azure Defender)
  • Static code analysis (SonarQube)
• Enforce compliance via Azure Policy
• Manage secrets with Azure Key Vault
• Configure audit logging and retention policies

Monitoring and Observability

• Configure distributed tracing with Application Insights
• Set up custom metrics and dashboards
• Implement alerting for critical issues (e.g., response time, error rate)
• Create runbooks for incident handling

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer

• Document pipeline architecture and workflows
• Create deployment and troubleshooting runbooks
• Train development teams on CI/CD best practices
• Maintain infrastructure diagrams and technical documentation

Required Technical Skills

Must-Have Qualifications

• Azure DevOps: 3+ years hands-on experience (Pipelines, Repos, Boards)
• CI/CD: YAML pipelines, blue-green/canary deployments, rollback strategies
• Terraform: 3+ years experience, modules, state management, workspaces
• Azure PaaS Services: App Service, PostgreSQL, Service Bus, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights
• Networking: VNets, Private Endpoints, NSGs, Front Door
• Scripting: Bash, PowerShell, Python or Java
• Git: GitFlow, trunk-based development
• Containerization: Docker, ACR, security best practices
• Database DevOps: PostgreSQL, Flyway/Liquibase, RLS
• Security: Key Vault, pipeline scanning, HIPAA/GDPR compliance

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Kubernetes / AKS, Helm charts
• Java Spring Boot deployment
• React / Node.js build pipelines
• Gradle / Maven
• Expo EAS for React Native
• SonarQube integration
• Azure API Management
• Azure OpenAI or other AI services
• Experience in healthcare or regulated industries
