Consultant Task – Delivery Lead – Copenhagen (10.04.2026)

Our customer is seeking an experienced Delivery Lead to help drive value from a newly established Data Backbone and reporting stack as part of a larger transformation program. The Consultant will be based in Copenhagen and be supporting the investment platform and internal stakeholders across the organization.

The Data Backbone initiative is a core delivery track under a transformation program. The focus is to create a single source of truth for core financial and investment-related data to enable internal and investor reporting, KPI frameworks, and data-driven decision making. The main architectural and technology choices have been made and implemented together with a strategic external partner acting as data backbone and managed data warehouse provider. Your focus will be to lead a project that activates and scales this backbone across the business, in close coordination with other related initiatives.

The external partner provides the underlying data management platform and operates with end-to-end responsibility for the managed data warehouse solution. As Delivery Lead, you will succeed by working closely and transparently with the partner’s delivery leads and engineers, forming a tight joint delivery group that plans, prioritizes, and executes work together. This requires a collaborative mindset, strong vendor management skills, and the ability to translate our customer’s business priorities into clear scope and deliverables that can be executed efficiently.

In parallel, you will lead a small, high-performing onsite project team of engineers and architects, working with them to learn, industrialize, and leverage the partner’s deliverables in combination with cloud services to accelerate value delivery to our customer’s business. Making this integrated delivery model work in practice is a pivotal part of the transformation.

Key responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day delivery of the Data Backbone initiative, including detailed planning, scope management, risk handling, and stakeholder communication, while coordinating dependencies with adjacent initiatives and the overall program roadmap in collaboration with program management.
- Shape and maintain delivery plans and wave backlogs, using project management tools and collaboration platforms as a natural part of how you work.
- Manage and coach the onsite project team of engineers and architects, creating clarity on roles, ways of working, and priorities.
- Lead and develop this team to build on platform components, patterns, and data models, accelerating delivery of internal reporting, KPI, and investor reporting solutions.
- Facilitate requirements engineering with business stakeholders for internal reporting, KPIs, and investor reporting, translating our customer’s needs into clear specifications for both the external partner and internal teams.
- Orchestrate joint planning and execution with the external partner’s delivery leads, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery, effective issue resolution, and disciplined change control.
- Drive structured follow-up on benefits and value realization, ensuring that delivered solutions are adopted, documented, and embedded into business processes across our customer’s organization.

Location: Copenhagen (onsite presence expected)
Workload: 100 %
Start: ASAP
Duration: 4-6+ months
Language: English

Profile and experience
- Strong project delivery background with a proven track record from finance, asset management, and/or private equity–related projects, ideally in a data, reporting, or performance management context.
- Comfortable stepping into a comprehensive, ongoing transformation where direction is set and the focus is on structured execution, stakeholder alignment, and value delivery rather than redesigning the target architecture.
- Motivated to work closely with data, BI, and reporting specialists (engineering, architecture, data, and business) on a day-to-day basis, helping shape how this cross-functional team operates and collaborates.
- Demonstrated experience working with, and through, strategic vendors; prior collaboration with distributed or offshore vendors is an advantage.
- Experience from international organizations or programs, navigating a broad stakeholder landscape (business leaders, operations, IT, and external partners) is a plus.
- Strong command of English, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate clearly and credibly with senior stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.
- Very strong in methodology and process, using modern project management tools (e.g. Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar) and collaboration platforms (e.g. Teams, Confluence, Miro) as second nature in your daily work.
- Experience from transformation programs and data-driven change initiatives is a plus, especially in environments with evolving governance and operating models.

Personal qualities
- Structured, delivery-focused, and comfortable owning timelines, risks, and outcomes in a dynamic setting.
- Strong communicator who can simplify complexity and create transparency on status, risks, decisions, and vendor performance.
- Pragmatic and collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership, willing to work hands-on with details when needed while keeping the overall objective in sight.
- Able to build trust quickly with stakeholders, engineering and architecture teams, and external partners, and to challenge constructively where required to protect scope, quality, and value.
