On behalf of private sector client, we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong finance background for a programme moving a legacy finance system onto a new ERP platform and financial data mart. The programme is now in its final stretch of testing, defect resolution and go-live preparation ahead of the planned decommissioning in February 2027.

The consultant will be the link between the business, development, test and project management. Day to day, that means analysing defects, data differences and functional gaps across the ERP platform, the data mart and dependent deliveries such as reporting, reconciliation and system extracts, and turning test findings into clear requirements and acceptance criteria. The consultant will also prepare business scenarios and test cases for posting, balances, reconciliations and reporting, run independent data analysis and reconciliations, follow defects through retest and regression to sign-off, and help carry the work through migration, go-live and hypercare.

We are looking for a senior, hands-on analyst who can quickly take ownership of a complex area, bring structure to open issues and drive decisions with little need for guidance. The consultant should be comfortable working with finance specialists, management and technical profiles alike, and will play an active part in sharing knowledge across the team.

Your qualifications
We are looking for a consultant with the following qualifications:

• Senior experience as a Business Analyst in large ERP, finance transformation or system decommissioning programmes
• Solid understanding of financial processes, including general ledger, automated and manual posting, charts of accounts, accruals, reconciliations and financial close
• Hands-on experience with test preparation and execution, including business scenarios, test cases, defect triage, regression testing and sign-off
• Experience analysing data differences across ERP platforms, data marts and downstream systems, including practical SQL skills
• Proactive, structured and a strong facilitator who communicates clearly across finance, business and IT
• Experience from the financial sector and with requirements, test and defect management tools is an advantage
