On behalf of a private client, we are looking for a skilled Backend Data Engineer to join the SMARTplant team and support the development of modern data-driven solutions within Bioenergy.
You will play a key role in bridging the gap between physical equipment and digital systems, enabling reliable, efficient, and safe operations across power plants.
Project Overview
You will join the SMARTplant team, working on building and maintaining high-performance data platforms that support analytics, reporting, and real-time insights.
The assignment includes modernisation of existing systems, including migration and decommissioning of legacy databases and applications, while ensuring stable and scalable data flows across operational systems.
The team works in an Agile setup and collaborates closely across both technical and operational domains, taking end-to-end ownership from design to support.
You’ll play an important role in:
- Develop and maintain a C# application for scheduled data-processing tasks.
- Containerize the application and deploy it as a Kubernetes Cronjob.
- Design and implement end-to-end data flows for ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Optimize and maintain reliable data-processing workflows for operational stability.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for application deployment and updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and enhance solutions.
Location: Skærbæk (Fredericia). The consultant is expected to be onsite in Skærbæk minimum three days per week. Fully remote work is not permitted unless explicitly agreed. Remote work from another country is not allowed without approval.

Your qualifications
We are looking for a consultant with as many of the following competencies:
- Strong C# skills to build efficient applications for data ingestion, transformation, and storage (file, DB, external sources).
- Experience with secure file transfers (SFTP) and Rest API's.
- Hands-on with containerization and running workloads as Kubernetes CronJobs.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines for automated build, deployment, and operations.
- Solid troubleshooting and collaboration skills to deliver reliable data solutions.
- Proven ability to design and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines added value to the success of this role.
