Consultant task – Senior QA Specialist (Remote), published: 31.08.2020

We are looking for a Senior QA Specialist for our client. They are a fast-growing company that’s developing enterprise-level software and redefining employee communication in the workplace. Together with the client, we are building a talented, senior-level, brand-new remote tech team. Are you the one to join that team?

If yes, you will work closely with a superb tech team based in Helsinki. It does not matter where your location is as long as it’s roughly in the same time zone. Working within an agile environment, you’ll develop, maintain, and execute test cases as well as analyze and communicate test results efficiently and comprehensively to product owners and to the team. Your tasks
As a QA Specialist, you will work on the following:
– Prepare test plans, scenarios, and test cases for all client’s environments
– Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
– Look for automation possibilities
– Provide feedback to the developers and work with them to resolve the identified defects
– Support product owners on release decisions by providing information concerning the quality level of product updates
– Work with a continuous integration environment (Gitlab CI)
– Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
– Participating in backlog grooming and sprint planning meetings to increase your understanding of the requirements/upcoming features and capturing business needs, and incorporating business logic into test strategies and scenarios
– Create and improve QA procedures (environment to test, cross-browser, etc.)
– Stay up-to-date on new testing tools & techniques

Your qualifications
The main requirements for this role are:
– At least 5+ years of experience in testing with multiple different web and mobile products
– Solid QA foundation with a good understanding of testing principles
– Overall understanding of software development processes and practices beyond pure QA
– High productivity with excellent prioritization and time management skills to survive is our fast-moving environment
– If you have worked together with developers and not in a separate testing department you will more likely have a better background for the role
– Experience working in a Scrum environment is preferred
– Excellent communication skills in English and experience of working in a remote multinational team setting is considered as a benefit for this role

Nice-to-haves:
While not critical requirements, it would be great if you are:
– Possess some programming skills with Java and preferably in Swift too
– Have knowledge and experience on Selenium Web-driver with TestNG and/or some mobile automation frameworks (XCTUITest and Espresso).
– Familiar with other Agile frameworks and practices
– Familiar with Git or similar version control
– Happen to be a Scrum Master, please mention that in your application

Location: Remote (Client located in Helsinki, Finland)
Workload: Fulltime (150 hours/month)
Start date: ASAP (negotiable)
Duration: Long-term, open-ended (Collaboration starts with a 6-month contract)
Language: Fluent English
Target rate: Eastern European rate (negotiable, depending on your experience level)
