Consultant Task – Software Developer (Espoo), published: 17.04.2024

We are looking for three developers for our client in the manufacturing industry. This is a project where two legacy systems (one .NET based and the other JavaScript based) are modernized (i.e. remade) into a singular unified software platform. The legacy systems are simply put monitoring tools that have dependencies to manufacturing instruments and process control systems (PCS). They have gained some technical debt and some of the system areas are outdated.

The reason for acquiring external experts is to build a unified software platform with more modern architecture, and better connectivity to other industrial control systems and client platforms. The priority is also standardizing and stabilizing the systems and harmonizing data to simplify the software. They also want to improve the UI and make it more user friendly. On the front-end side a client design system is to be utilized and its components used.

The client is expecting the developers to be proactive and have a creative attitude. The consultants are expected to join the client in planning and efforts to reach their goals. Ideas and approaches are welcomed as are even technology suggestions to make the new unified software platform work as planned and provide value.

Below are the general technology/competence requirements for this project. On an individual level, these requirements can be met as a whole or partially with an emphasis either on the backend or frontend side of the requirements spectrum. In other words, we welcome candidates not only with a full stack approach covering as many of the requirements as possible but also with a front-end or back-end focus to the following list:

Requirements
– C# & .NET development experience
– Experience working with UI
– DevOps and version control experience
– React
– InfluxDB
– Azure
– Confluence
– Jira

– 3D engine experience is a benefit
– Industrial experience is a benefit
