About the assignment:
We are looking for an experienced HPC Infrastructure & Scheduler Integration Engineer with a strong focus on PBS (PBS Professional/OpenPBS). The role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, automation, and platform integration.

You will be responsible for designing, building, and operating integrations around HPC job schedulers, ensuring that compute, storage, and orchestration layers work seamlessly together. The role also involves integrating HPC environments with modern platforms such as Kubernetes, cloud services, and MLOps stacks.

The work will primarily be performed remotely as part of a larger initiative with multiple parallel workstreams.
 

We are looking for someone who:

• Has strong experience in Linux systems engineering (RHEL, Rocky, SLES)

• Has deep expertise in HPC schedulers (PBS Professional/OpenPBS, Slurm, or similar)

• Has experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash)

• Has experience working with HPC environments and cluster operations

• Has experience integrating schedulers with infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, identity systems)

• Has a solid understanding of job scheduling concepts (queues, priorities, backfill, fairshare)

• Has experience with observability, logging, and monitoring
 

Nice to have:

• Experience building custom PBS hooks or scheduler extensions

• Experience with hybrid HPC (cloud/Kubernetes) and cloud bursting

• Experience with MLOps platforms (e.g., Kubeflow, ClearML)

• Familiarity with MPI workloads (OpenMPI, MPICH)

• Experience with GPU scheduling (NVIDIA stack, MIG/MPS)

• Experience with parallel file systems (Lustre)

• Experience with CI/CD for infrastructure and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet)

• Experience with security/compliance in HPC environments
