On behalf of a private sector client, we are looking for an experienced Mainframe Automation Specialist to help move the client's z/OS automation from CA-OPS/MVS to IBM System Automation.

Around 1,700 existing automation rules need to be converted. The consultant will work through these rules to understand how each one behaves and what it depends on, then test and implement the converted versions in System Automation and fix any gaps that turn up. Alongside the migration, the consultant will keep the current automation running, support customers and the internal z/OS software and operations teams, get to the root cause of issues, and build new proactive automation.

We are looking for a hands-on automation specialist who knows both products well and writes REXX with confidence. Work in the production environment has to be done from the office in Oslo, while other tasks can be done remotely.

Your qualifications
We are looking for a consultant with the following qualifications:

• Ideally 5+ years of experience configuring and maintaining CA-OPS/MVS and NetView System Automation for z/OS
• Experience writing REXX for CA-OPS/MVS and System Automation
• Good understanding of z/OS and subsystems such as IMS, DB2 and CICS
• Proficiency with TSO, ISPF and SDSF and a solid grasp of mainframe z/OS operations
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Eligible to work in and travel to Norway without a visa or work permit
