Right People Group GmbH celebrates its 2nd anniversary – an interview with Thomas Möller, Managing Director

Right People Group Germany is celebrating its second anniversary. After two years, Managing Director, Thomas Möller and his team serve companies of all sizes and have worked with over 150 skilled consultants. We meet Thomas to learn about how the past two years have been and what he hopes to accomplish for the company in the future.

Two years have passed since the German company was founded. As you reflect back, how would you summarize these years?

We founded the company at a rather odd moment, at the beginning of a large pandemic. Even the notary asked twice: “Are you really sure about the timing of this”? But looking back, I am proud of how we grew from there.

As a recruiter, I think it’s the best reward to find a great match and receive positive feedback from the client and consultant even months after the start of the collaboration. Or experience the atmosphere and performance of teams that we put together.

And since we grew to a small but effective team, we have had a lot of these moments within the last two years. We’ve worked with an extensive variety of companies – large enterprises like Amazon, PwC, or Media-Saturn but also with small local start-ups and everything in between. We had the honor to work with more than 150 freelancers over that period – and build strong, fun, and professional relationships. So it has been quite a ride in the last two years.

Your career with Right People Group began already in 2017 when you were hired as a consultant manager for the German market. How has the market developed?

From my perspective, the freelancer market matured quite a lot in Germany. Obviously, one major factor was the pandemic, which created on one side some pressure to digitalize processes, but also caused the acceptance of remote work. Development teams are now spread around the globe, a Scrum-Setup is the new normal, and fluency in English has become a must criterion in most projects.

Not only does the company celebrate its anniversary today, but you also welcome a new employee. With Falco joining you as an Account Manager, you now have four people working with our German clients and consultants. Could you please introduce us to your team?

Yes, it’s Falco’s 1st working day today, and we are happy to have him. Next to Falco and me, there are Jannes and Mirijam on the Team. Jannes has been working with RPG for around two years now. He was the first employee of RPG Germany and contributed a lot to its success. Mirijam joined mid of last year as a Recruitment Consultant – She has been living all over the globe and is our “LinkedIn Geek.”

How do you envision the company five years from now?

We never grew as quickly as we could have. The training of our current team members and the quality of our service has always been more important than scaling rapidly. However, we are hiring new people now to be able to serve our clients still well. I envision the company in 5 years with around 30 people while having a culture based on trust, self-organization, and fun. Onsiter, our platform, and VMS System will play a significant role for our clients and us.
