Who are you, and what led you to the position as a consultant manager at Right People Group?
I am Vicente Campos-Guereta, Consultant Manager for the Spanish market at Right People Group. What brought me to this position was the freelance perspective it could offer me. The ability to collaborate with the entire freelance market. Something that is not very well seen in Spain, but we believe it brings better results than the traditional system.

Tell me about a recent project that encapsulates your daily job
I have a client who is involved in a digital transformation and seeing that friendly and community culture among the members of their team has made it easier for me to understand their needs. This transparency led me to find all the consultants he needed for such a big task. My daily job can’t be understood without that culture.
Can you share a challenge you faced and how you solved it?
I have tried to deliver a consultant believing he was a great fit for the project, and in the long run, I discovered that this was not the case. That is a problem that needs a solution. Quickly. Being agile and fast enough to create such a solution for the client in the middle of the project is what makes us different from competitors.

In the hunt for the right consultant for a specific job, what are the most important qualities and traits you look for?
What I pay attention to when it comes to finding a perfect consultant, are the required skills. Yes, a lot of consultants can have the needed skills or a long track record of experience. But what is really important, is a gratifying attitude towards the client and that they show commitment from the beginning and understand the tasks and needs of the project.
How do you evaluate a new project?
There are different variables to take into consideration, but everything is depending on having a clear vision of the needs of the client. Until it is not clear what the client needs, you don´t make the first step. That is why this process has to be very rigorous since everything starts by understanding the project.
When do you feel the satisfaction of having done a good job?
I have constant communication with the client and the consultant during every given project. This creates a smoother process where crucial information is never lost, at the same time it creates an important feedback culture. When both parties give the stamp of approval to the process they have been through and when both are happy with the cooperation, then you know you did a good job.
What is your greatest career accomplishment?
My greatest career accomplishment is yet to come.
What do you like about your job at RPG and what motivates you to come to work every day?
That feeling of being the visionary underdog. There are still many companies out there who do not know us and our business model which we can take advantage of and bring something new to the table. Disrupting your own industry and redefining how working processes are being done, that is motivating. At the same time, I am of that conviction that there is a world out there to help. Every day, I try to see different perspectives in my work to make things more efficient and to stay motivated.

Why did you choose to work in the IT industry?
The reason why I decided to work in the IT industry is because regardless of what kind of company you are, whatever sector you are from, whether you are a public or a private company and no matter what your company does, it will be necessary for you to transform digitally.
